SPEI

  Sustaining Pastoral Excellence Inventory

A self-assessment that measures personal characteristics and factors

that are directly related to the nature and demands of pastoral ministry

INTRODUCTION: The SPEI has been developed by The Pastors Institute to assist pastors in measuring the factors that are critical in establishing and sustaining effective ministry.

The results of the SPEI can be helpful in many ways. First, the SPEI is an integral part of SHAPE (Sustaining Health and Pastoral Excellence). SHAPE is a Lilly Endowment-funded initiative to provide Church of God (Anderson) pastors with a network of resources that will increase ministry effectiveness. Also, a pastor may compare his or her responses to the accumulated results of all respondents. Third, results may be compiled by groupings, such as church size, geographical regions, and ages. Finally, church leaders may use the compiled results of regional pastors to determine and provide appropriate resources.

This instrument is designed for credentialed pastors only. The SPEI applies only to licensed or ordained senior pastors or associate pastors who are currently actively serving a Church of God (Anderson) congregation in the United States or Canada. If you meet these criteria, you may proceed with the survey. If you do not meet these criteria, please do not proceed.

All individual responses will be held strictly confidential. You will be requested to give the last 4 digits of your social security number. This will be used only to locate your responses should you ever request your results. (Canadian pastors click HERE for more information.) Participation is completely voluntary. Refusal to participate will not have any effect on your standing as a pastor.

Thank you for your participation. Your sincere and honest responses are appreciated and will help to provide resources for establishing and sustaining effective pastoral ministry.

ALL INDIVIDUAL RESPONSES  WILL BE  HELD STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL.
